François Martig has created podcasts from field recordings and interviews conducted in 2021-22. Each episode evokes a sound universe populated by people’s voices and soundscapes, enhancing the themes residents described as crucial to the territory, such as how Lorraine’s former “El Dorado” of working-class life has been transformed into a daily cross-border commute; the new, green landscape of former iron and steel production; and mining sites where the border is ambiguous.
